This covers adding your personal email — iCloud, Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or another provider — to your phone. It's not a Previ-provided email account; it's just getting your existing inbox onto your phone. Find your device below.
Apple (iPhone)
This is done through the iPhone's built-in Mail app.
Adding an Account
Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account.
Choose your provider (iCloud, Google, Yahoo, Outlook.com, etc.) or tap Other if it's not listed.
Enter your email address and password (or sign in through the provider's login screen, which is standard for Google and Microsoft accounts).
Choose what to sync — Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Notes — then tap Save.
Common Issues
“Incorrect password” even though it's right: many providers (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook) require an app-specific password or a sign-in through their own login screen rather than typing your regular password directly into Mail's setup form, especially if you have two-factor authentication turned on.
Account added but no mail showing up: check Settings > Mail > Accounts > [account] > Fetch New Data and make sure Push or Fetch is enabled.
Duplicate or old messages: this usually resolves itself within a few minutes as the account finishes its first sync.
Samsung
Samsung phones can use either the Gmail app or the built-in Samsung Email app, or both.
Adding an Account (Gmail App)
Open the Gmail app.
Tap your profile picture > Add another account.
Choose your provider and sign in.
Adding an Account (Samsung Email App)
Open the Email app (or go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts > Add account).
Choose your provider or enter your email address to auto-detect the settings.
Sign in and choose what to sync.
Common Issues
“Incorrect password” even though it's right: many providers (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook) require signing in through their own login screen or an app-specific password rather than typing your regular password directly, especially with two-factor authentication turned on.
Account added but no mail showing up: check the account's sync settings and make sure Sync email (or similar) is turned on, and that background data isn't restricted for the app under Settings > Apps.
This is done through the Gmail app, which also handles non-Gmail accounts on Pixel phones.
Adding an Account
Open the Gmail app.
Tap your profile picture in the top right > Add another account.
Choose your provider (Google, Outlook/Hotmail, Yahoo, or Other for anything else) and sign in.
Choose what to sync, then finish setup.
Common Issues
“Incorrect password” even though it's right: many non-Google providers require an app-specific password or a sign-in through their own login screen rather than your regular password, especially with two-factor authentication turned on.
Account added but no mail showing up: check Settings > Accounts > [account] > Account sync and make sure Gmail sync is turned on, and that the app isn't restricted from background data under Settings > Apps.
Motorola
This is done through the Gmail app, which also handles non-Gmail accounts on Motorola's near-stock Android software.
Adding an Account
Open the Gmail app.
Tap your profile picture in the top right > Add another account.
Choose your provider (Google, Outlook/Hotmail, Yahoo, or Other for anything else) and sign in.
Choose what to sync, then finish setup.
Common Issues

LG
LG exited the mobile phone business in 2021. Exact menu wording can vary more on LG phones since models range across several Android versions.
Adding an Account
Open the Gmail app, or go to Settings > General > Accounts > Add account.
Choose your provider (Google, Outlook/Hotmail, Yahoo, or Other for anything else) and sign in.
Choose what to sync, then finish setup.
