Having trouble pairing a Bluetooth headset, earbuds, or other wireless audio accessory with your phone? Find your device below — the general steps are similar across manufacturers, but each section covers the exact menus and any companion apps for that device.
Apple (iPhone)
Pairing AirPods
Open the AirPods case near your iPhone with the lid open.
A setup card should pop up on your iPhone's screen automatically — tap Connect.
Follow any additional prompts (like enabling Siri or personalizing fit for AirPods Pro).
Pairing Other Bluetooth Headphones
Put the headset into pairing mode (usually by holding the power/multifunction button until an LED flashes).
On the iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is on.
Tap the headset's name under Other Devices.
Not Showing Up or Won't Connect?
Make sure the headset isn't already actively connected to another device (phone, laptop, tablet) — most Bluetooth accessories only stay connected to one device at a time.
In Settings > Bluetooth, tap the ⓘ next to the device and choose Forget This Device, then re-pair from scratch.
Reset the headset itself per the manufacturer's instructions — often done by holding the pairing button for 10–15 seconds until the LED cycles through colors.
Samsung
Pairing Galaxy Buds
Open the Galaxy Buds case near your phone with the lid open.
A pairing prompt should appear automatically — tap Connect.
Install the Galaxy Wearable app for firmware updates and to customize touch controls.
Pairing Other Bluetooth Headphones
Put the headset into pairing mode (usually by holding the power/multifunction button until an LED flashes).
On the phone, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is on.
Tap the headset's name under Available Devices.

LG exited the mobile phone business in 2021, but LG Tone and similar audio accessories are still commonly used and pair like any standard Bluetooth headset.
