How Previ insurance works
Previ acts as your broker. We shop your rate across a network of carriers, show you what we find, and you decide whether to switch. Select Insurance in the menu to start.
Because we are a broker rather than a carrier, we are not steering you toward one company's product. If your current rate is better than anything we find, keep it. We will tell you that rather than push a switch.
This article covers using the Insurance section of the portal. For which carriers and states are supported, and what each coverage type includes, see Previ Home & Auto Insurance.
What you can get quoted
Auto, home, renters, landlord, condo, umbrella, pet, and specialty vehicles including RVs, ATVs and UTVs, motorcycles, and boats.
Auto and home: the 30-second version
You do not have to retype your policy details. With your permission, we pull your current declarations page directly, which takes about 30 seconds, and quote from that.
Select Auto or Home, give consent when prompted, and we take it from there.
If you switch, we will cancel your old auto policy for you so you are not left holding two.
The other coverages
Renters, landlord, umbrella, pet, and specialty vehicles use a short intake form instead, since there is no declarations page to pull.
Your progress saves as you go, so you can stop partway through and pick it up later without starting over.
For specialty vehicles, we match you with a producer who handles those lines specifically rather than quoting them in the portal.
If your state is not listed
The portal only shows states we can currently quote, so if yours is missing from a dropdown, that is why. Carrier availability varies by state and we are actively expanding it.
We re-shop every year, automatically
Thirty days before each policy renews, a broker re-quotes your coverage across the network and emails you the result. You do not have to remember to ask.
This is the part that compounds. Insurance rates drift upward quietly at renewal, and most people never check. If the re-quote comes back higher than what you already pay, stay where you are.
When your new coverage starts
The effective date is set when you accept the policy, and you will get written confirmation within minutes. There is no gap between accepting and being covered.
How insurance is billed
Insurance premiums are paid to the carrier that writes your policy, not added to your Previ wireless bill. Your policy documents will tell you how and when that carrier collects.
